- Usage

-
- This directory contains some useful scripts for backups.
- The original script (BackUpUp) was designed by Attilio Scifoni (Thanks).
- Here is his description of what it exactly does.
-
-
-
- Dear Sven
-
- I have used your fine program UPDATECOPY and I have found it more useful for
- faster backups from one partition to another of the same harddisk,or of the
- different harddisks.
-
- With the gigabytes of modern harddisk the backup with floppy disks would
- requires hundreds of disks!
-
- For such purpose I have prepared a cli programme, named BACKUPUP, using your
- UPDATECOPY.
-
- In this programme I have put the default source DH0: and the default
- destination HD0:, selected simply bay pressing ENTER, but they may be
- modified, with a editor, according to the personal requirements.
- Moreover the selection of eventual options ALL, DEEP and FORCE is made simply
- by pressing ENTER.
- At last, there is the option of rename the eventual file .BACKDROP , to
- eviting the double visualization of the 'extracted' files on the Workbench
- screen.
-
- Therefore if I want (as it happens for my backups):
-
- UPDATECOPY DH0: HD0: ALL FORCE ,
-
- with the RENAME of the eventual file .BACKDROP ,
-
- I must simply press ENTER eigth times!
-
- Naturally this programme may be utilized also for copying from a directory or
- floppy disk to another!
-
-
- Best regards and sorry for my bad english!

- The following scripts can be found in this directory:
-
- BackUpUp
- This is the original script by Attilio Scifoni.
- I only removed the workaround for a bug of UpDateCopy.
-
- BackUpUp2
- This is a modified version. I cleaned up the output and
- gave the local variables a self-explaining name.
-
- BackUpUp_GUI
- Bases on backUpUp2 but uses requesters for user-inputs.
